Which state has the most military history?

This thread could go a few places, but I decided here would be best.

Which U.S state do you think has the most military history?

My answer would be my home state of Virginia.

Here are some important events that took place in VA:

-1st and 2nd Battles of Bull Run
-Battle of Seven Pines
-Seven Days Battles
-Battle of Harpers Ferry
-Battle of Fredericksburg
-Battle of Chancellorsville
-Siege of Petersburg
-Clash of the Monitor and Merrimac
-Battle of Spotsylvania
-Confederate surrender at Appomatox Courthouse
-Battle of Petersburg (American Revolution)
-Battle of Great Bridge
-British surrender at Yorktown
-Robert E. Lee and George Washington are from Virginia

What do y'all think?

Yes! both the Civil and Revolutionary Wars ended here.

The first rebellious sentiments against the British also began in Virginia

While I'll give VA the vote for most, mainly due to the Civil War the rest of your statement doesn't hold water imo.

The last battle of the ACW was in Texas, if you are thinking of Yorktown, forget it. The last battle was fought over a year later and not in VA. While it is your opinion that VA showed the first signs of rebellion mine is that the New England Colonies and mainly Mass. was the hot bed of rebellion which led the crown to occupie Boston and close the port.

The last battle of the American Revolution was Yorktown, where the British surrendered.

The Confederates surrendered at Appomatox Courthouse, so both ended in Virginia.

The other statement was false, I have no clue why I said that

The Army of Northern Virginia surrendered at Appomattox, not all the Army's of the CSA. The last battle of the AWI was not Yorktown. VA was not the hot bed of the rebellion in either war.

Battle of Palmetto Ranch: American Civil War's Final Battle

1782 Sept. 11-13 Wheeling (Fort Henry)
[Virginia / Ohio border]
Last 'battle' of the war when a few Loyalists and some Indians lay siege to a frontier Fort but give up after 3 days

Note the date! Close to a year after your last battle. Even after that date the conflict wasn't at an end. Your going to need better sources than your High School History book

Generally, a battle is a conceptual component in the hierarchy of combat in warfare between two or more armed forces, or combatants. In a battle, each combatant will seek to defeat the others, with defeat determined by the conditions of a military campaign. Battles generally are well defined in duration, area and force commitment,

I am not talking in absolutes. The final MAJOR battle of the American revolutionary War was at Yorktown. After the Army of Northern Virginia surrendered there was mainly small battles, so its safe to say it was the nearly the end of the war

Change what ya mean in the middle of a debate. Nice dodge.

OK, what do you consider a Major battle? How may troops have to be involved?

"The Battle of Columbus, Georgia (April 16, 1865), also known as the Battle of Girard, Alabama (now Phenix City, Alabama) is widely regarded to be the last battle of the American Civil War.[1][2][3][4] The Georgia State government has officially declared this battle the "last battle of the war between the states." [5]
The Battle of Palmito Ranch occurred after the Battle of Columbus, but the engagement at Palmito Ranch occurred after Johnston's surrender to Sherman (April 26, 1865) and after the Confederacy dissolved on May 5. In the Official Records of the Civil War, the Battle of Columbus is referred to as the "closing conflict of the war."[6]

I'm not dodging, my point is that the surrender at Appomatox is considered the beginning of the end for the Confederacy

The beginning of the end was Firing on Fort Sumter. Few historians believe that the CSA never had a chance of winning a protracted war against the Union. That Appomattox was a major turning point I can agree with.
